What should I know about the MBA at Wright Graduate University?

"If I met someone and they were an incoming business student, I would say to them, 'This is going to be the most rewarding thing you have ever done. There are going to be time that you will want to quit, and those likely are the times when you are just about to make a breakthrough.' Every time I have struggled is the time when I really started to get a concept and apply it in a real way in my life - sticking through those moments has been so beneficial to me.

I would also say, get ready to be supported! The Wright community is amazing. You have incredible access to faculty, but you can also reach out fellow students. The amount of support you receive from the students at Wright is something I've never had in another program."

- Britta Newly, Current WGU MBA Student

How will the MBA curriculum help me in my career?

"From a business standpoint, Wright is helping me manage many of tasks at work and still be very present for the people that I am working with. On top of that, there is all the amazing curriculum I get to interact with on a daily basis. I find ways to weave in the curriculum into conversations I'm having at work so it helps give credibility to the topics I want to talk about.

I started the MBA a month before I began a brand new job and I had so many models and phrases that I could rely on when I was networking and building rapport. It gave me confidence because I had more things I could talk about and ways that I could connect with people."

- Drew Allison, Current WGU MBA Student

What is the mission of the MBA Program at Wright Graduate University?

"Its so exciting to talk about the MBA Program at Wright. I started off my career as an engineer after I went to University of Michigan. Then I got MBA at Kellogg, which was the #1 MBA in the world at that time. When I look at what I learned at Wright - Social Emotional Intelligence (SEI) and Transformational Leadership - that has been essential to my personal growth journey and establishing my company. With the help of Wright's education, I created a company with heart, culture, and a place that people wanted to be - including myself. I didn't learn that at Kellogg.

When we established the Lyons School of Transformational Business, we wanted to teach business a different way - with a heart. Of course you still need to learn fundamental business concepts, but not all business schools teach you SEI, selling authentically, connecting with others, and leading transformationally. They don't teach you to really understand and run a business. Here, we do."

- Rich Lyons, Founder, Lyons School of Transformational Business

What outcomes will I get from this MBA program?

"Personally, I have developed a better sense of self. I feel more capable, and I am sure I was always this capable, but I really never knew the amount I could accomplish and the influence I could have on people. It's directly a result of being pushed in this business program and pushed in a good way to use all of my talents and abilities to benefit myself and everyone around me.

Professionally, I have doubled my salary since I started, which feels amazing. During the course of the MBA program I switched jobs, and the boldness and business acumen I gained through Wright was the impetus for me taking this next step and finding a company I love to work for."

- Britta Newly, Current WGU MBA Student

Do I have time to fit an MBA into my life?

"One of the biggest things in my life right now is this MBA program. I learned early on to define my resources when I started this program, and the three that came to mind were my attention, my energy, and my time. The value for me of putting my attention, energy, and time into this program is establishing more bandwidth for myself.

Working full time, managing other areas of my life, and then integrating the MBA coursework on top of everything has shown me that I can do a lot more than I ever gave myself credit for. I am learning to do more, and as a result I have a much higher standard for myself, personally and professionally."
