Wright Graduate University was founded in 2006 by Drs. Bob Wright, Judith Wright, and Michael Zwell in order to develop transformational leaders and give them the tools to maximize their influence in the world around them. In 2012, WGU expanded further from its acquisition by the 501(c)(3) Foundation for the Realization of Human Potential.
Since its beginnings, not only has the number of faculty increased with the addition of Dr. Gordon Medlock (Ph.D Yale, existential philosophy) and Dr. Sara Hraha (Psy-D, Adler School of Professional Psychology, clinical psychology), but it has also grown to the point where 7 additional non-faculty staff members were necessary to handle day-to-day operations.
WGU is an ACICS-accredited university and has been in good standing with Wisconsin EAB since 2008. Additionally, it has received State authorization or exemption from 29 additional states for distance learning.
As students’ needs have evolved so too have WGU’s capabilities. Learners benefit from our online structure—all academic work is submitted and graded through the Desire2Learn (D2L) learning management system. Additionally, cloud-based student information systems are available for attendance records, scheduling, grade recording, transcripts, and SAP and GPA calculators.
WGU has had 17 master’s program graduates since 2009, and, overall, our graduates have experienced an astounding 93% placement rate.  We are excited that our first 3 Ed.D graduations are on track for 2016 and are expecting future growth in this program.
When surveyed, 100% of our graduates agreed with these statements:
  • I would recommend WGU to a family member or friend.
  • I am competent in performing the skills to my career objective.
WGU is committed to growth, for both itself and its students, and is proud to see our students embrace their time here and use it to serve and improve their lives and the lives of those around them.
